All who are running this cam, how does it pull ? What did you put down ? I'm thinking of running this cam on a 112+2. Any ideas ?

What are the specs on that cam?

I see you are in Gilbert, have you looked at the G5 cams? You are more than welcome to ride in my car or Mike's if you are interested in that cam and want to cover all your bases.

I work at the target right by the bank you work at. I drive a 01 NBM SS, and I see your car all the time. It's a sick ride my friend

As far as the cam goes, I like the 228 because its not too "big" and the amount of low end capabilities it has(from what I've seen so far...)

I installed this cam over a week ago but have no dyno or time slips. It has a mean lope when idleing, and doesn't feel like it lost anything down low. Specs: 228/228 .588/.588 112+2. Still working on the tune so i haven't put it through its paces yet.

It is a very nice cam, but will not pull like a mo fo like the g5x3 or 2 or any other cam of the size.

As I told Scott... just take one ride I drive it over 100 miles a day in AZ... it gets great mileage, makes incredible low end and top end, and so far a LONG list of happy customers! Im in gilbert 2-3 times a week so im happy to take you for a spin, otherwise im sure scott can as well!

Thanks dude, I have seen your car too, love the color, my wife has a NBM TA I work at the Wells Fargo, in case you didn't know Stop in and chat if you want, or if you need an account, help, etc. I eat at that Del Taco sometimes and I think you park over by there correct? As for that cam you are looking at, I switched from a Comp 224/228, .581/.588 112 LSA to the X3. Trust me, the X3 puts the hurt to my old setup, incredible difference, ESPECIALLY down low! I am not trying to sway your decision, I wish you could have rode in the car before and after, you would know which cam to get now hehe Just let me or Mike know if you want a spin, you will have to wait a week for mine though, I have the Katech tensioner on the way, if I hammer the gas the belt goes flying off Too much power, I NEVER had that problem with the 224/228 cam.

What are the specs on the x2, x3, and fm13 ? i found the fm10 228/228 .588/.588 112+2

How hard are these cams (x2,x3,fm13) on the valvetrain ?

x2 is 232/240 .595/.609 112 or 114lsa
x3 is just a degree or two bigger
fm13 is 230/232 .591/.585 any lsa you want

all of the above cams will be hard on your valve train and duals should be run.

So an x3 on a 112+2, would that require fly cuting of the pistons ?

bump

I plan on doing a port/polish on my heads but plan on keeping stock valves, so would the x3 require fly cutting of the pistons ?

Nope, no flycutting, stock valves will be fine, you can port and polish all you want But I would stick with the 114 on the X3.
