Default LS1 383 Stroker expertise requested!

Good day everybody. Here are the mods of my current motor:

PRC Stage 2.5 5.3L P/P heads
Torquer v3 cam
FAST 35lbs injectors
Kooks LT 1 3/4 stepped 1 7/8 headers
High flow cats with ORY
High flow catback Dynomax Bullets
Stock LS6 intake manifold
K&N high flow intake

Currently making 402rwhp

Long story short, I did a compression test on Cylinder 5 and got 0psi. Popped off my valve covers and the intake double spring broke. Did a bore scope and saw a cylinder mark on top of the piston, I pulled the head and confirmed the valve hit the piston. I'm still not sure if it bent the cylinder and damaged the head or not until I take it to the machine shop. I made a decision to just do my whole bottom end as I needed to already replace the piston.

I'm buying the 5.3L block from Texas speed ported to a 383 Stroker with the whole rotating assembly.

I plan on reusing my Heads but looking to replace the cam with something a little bigger. I'm a complete noob when it comes to cams. I've read multiple forums, watched videos and I can't grasp how exactly to determine the cam that's right for me.

I do not plan on racing the car on the track nor plan on boosting it in anyway. I'll also be upgrading my intake manifold to the FAST 92mm w/ The FAST Big Mouth 92mm TB and upgrade the MAF sensor.

Texas Speed suggested the MS3. This is my DD so I want as much power as possible with no drivability issues. The Torquer v3 I have now was pretty big and I had no issues with the cam when it came to driving. I'm going to be a newb and say beside max performance I am going for the lobe sound as well just like my Torquer.

I'm looking for lessons learned and or best cam you have used for your application.

Thanks!

Notice you said you want the most power without drivability issues. I personally would sell off the Texas speed heads etc.. stuff you have now and go with a pair Mamo Motorsport 220 heads and a cam matched from him. Sound like you isn't a big fan of big cams either.
Tony Mamo is known for making big power without a big cam. Here is a good example..... https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/1761226-optimized-346-build-227-cam-almost-490-rwhp.html

Everyone go have they own opinion on this topic but that's just my 2 pennies.

If trusting Texas speed for the shortblock why not get a cam recommendation from them?

Far as different heads or FAST why bother a 383 with a little more cam is going to be about all you can plant on street tires on the street at legal speeds.

I've spoken to TSP a couple times and it's always someone different that recommends a different cam. I was just hoping that someone here had something that fit my wants and that works with their application

What gears and transmission do you have? That will play a role as well in the combination. This is also subjective from person to person but what is tolerable to you as far as drivability is concerned? I've got a 239/247 .623/.623 in my 383 and it has zero surge and drives well no matter what speed or gear, just shakes at stop lights.

I would call Kip @ CAMMOTION for fantastic customer service, lobes
That are more durable with better quality steel, gentle profiles that
Will provide better valvetrain stability and valve spring life.
Something like 235*/239*-241* (stepped headers probably good
With +4* on exhaust) .610"/.590" LSA + ADV determined by
Kip based on your desire for lope/chop sound.
235* intake duration will provide enough duration to spinn 6500+RPM
(more duration needs more comp 11.5+ and more RPM 7000+,
not practical with HR)
FOR 383" with good heads, and still have good Driveability.
How much driving do you do in SF by the way, pretty tough going
Up and down hills with big cam and M6 lol.

First I'd say pass on the FAST Big Mouth TB & go with a Nick Williams.

I was trying to figure what cam to go with for a while. Finally called Martin@Tick & told him what I was looking for. Glad I did.

As stated getting "as much power as possible" with "no drivability issue" is a fine line of personal preference.

Hey 1 Slow WS6. What's the LSA on your cam?

Hills wouldn't be an issue with proper gearing. Cam is 113+3
