Default Would it be o.k. to run a 100-150 shot with these rings?

I had bought some rings from one of the members, there supposed to be really good rings. I didn't know if anybody had ever used them or not. Curious on how they would hold up to a little laughing gas.

The company is ACL (Company in Australia) and the rings are: Nitrocarburised Steel Top Ring Sets

Another question I have is: If I get my cylinder walls honed, I wouldn't have to get different size rings, would I?

I am really clueless when it comes to the shortblock, so please let me know about anything to help me with the rebuild.

If you get your cylinders honed, you'll need oversized pistons and rings. If you just get it re-crosshatched, then you'll be fine. Can't commend on the rings. If you've got the shortblock apart, you might as well bore it out to a 4.0" bore and make it a 6.0L, if you need to buy new pistons and rings.

So, I can make it a 6.0 (364ci) by honing it to 4.0"? I had no idea I could do that! But, the LS1 shortblock I have is out of a 98 Z28. I think I read somewhere that these couldn't be bored/honed as much as the newer ones. Is this true? Thanks.

you cant bore the ls1 aluminum block to 4.00". the 98's can only be bored .005 which is just a basic clean up.

If I bored it .005", could I use the same piston rings as mentioned above?

I hope all I need is to have it re-crosshatched. It had ~90,000 when it was pulled out. It was pulled out by the dealer because of a leaking valve seal & running low-compression. What do ya'll think?

Also, what do ya'll think about running the FMS 224/224-high lift(~.57x-.58x)-112LSA cam with this set-up? Allan recommended it for what I told him I wanted. I know if Allan recommended it, it has to be an awesome cam!
