Default Oil priming question

About to start up my lq4 swapped trans am this weekend for the first time. No internal work done just swapped oil pan and accessories over. Do I need to worry about priming the engine? It's say a couple weeks without oil in the pan. If so how do I go about it?

couple weeks that's it?

People store their cars for longer periods

Make sure the oil filter is full, and the battery has 12v and every plug/electrical connector is attached as to minimize dry starts..

when I built my motor, I used a cheap drill pump hose clamped to where the oil filer screws on and primed with that while someone was turning the crank with a breaker bar. worked pretty damned good, showed like 60psi on the guage.

It gave me a warm and fuzzy, at least.

Sorry, clarification. The engine is not built. It was pulled from a wrecked running truck. So it sat for about 3 weeks with out oil in it on a stand. I haven't touched anything inside the engine.

Its still a good idea to prime it. But if you want to be **** about it, make sure you get oil out of all the pushrods/rockers. ( just like SBC/BBC)

I saw people using a garden sprayer and pushing it in the oil port at the front of the block. But that would only get to one side of the oil pump (right)
how would I get it to the other side?

Pull the spark plugs and the fuel pump fuse and spin the engine with the starter.

That's how I do it. Very reliable method.
