Default 'Muscle car' cam?

Hey everyone. I need to get a cam and soon to complete my round of mods. I want a cam that makes good low end torque, has a somewhat noticeable idle, is audible with a good exhaust, and just basically has an old muscle car feel. Any recommendations? thanks.

that new round of mods should include a TC before cam. i'd recommend something in the 220-230 range on a 112+4. just make sure you get a good tune and run the appropriate vavletrain.

You sure a 114 isnt more up his alley with the auto jrp? +4 will help it idle but a 112 could give him stalling/surging issues with his auto unless his tune is perfect and his idle is bumped up a bit.

I am still torn between the g5x3 and F13. I may back off to a g5x2 or F11 though because the thought of taking my poor stock bottom end up to 6700 regularly is SCARRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

depends on how big of a duration he goes with and how competent a tune he gets.

Actually, I was thinking of a G5X2. I read someone's review of it and it sounded like that could be it. I definitely will get a higher stall (possibly 2400) TC, and have everything tuned. I just want an idle that is a little lumpy/lopey, doesn't have to be smooth. Thanks.

SS3800 and a G5X2 114... already done two of those setups out here and they rock! the stall drives like a lower stall converter, however flashes higher and usually gets off 1.4s-1.5s no problem!

Hey SS on your six how does your car run now with the stock manifolds in place? Does it feel like it's choking or is it still make great top end? I am just wondering because I am about to install a texas-speed 231/237 with gtp stage two heads and I have not the greatest exhaust set up look at my sig. I will eventually break down and buy long tubes but for now I will run my setup probibly for two years at least. At least my exhaust is catless and I do have a cutout so it flows decently.

Nobody else will say it but...the hotcam is what you need. I am enjoying mine. It runs decent without a tune, but I more particular than that. I highly recommend tuning with a hotcam.

230/236//112 will lope and work with smaller converter.

224/224//112 has a small lope but not much in case you consider that one.
