Building the Beast - 383 supercharged with Mamo top end
#304
I have the full true dual system for both. I have to do some fab work on the boosted setup because they don't make a 3.5 collector merge for the x pipe. I still want to do rear exit exhaust for my boosted car so I can participate in more street legal events

So I figured I'd pop in here and give an update. CF top is finally getting installed this upcoming week so hopefully I'll have the car back soon. I'll try to remember to weigh it right away to see how much I drop with the top. It was 2447 when it left .
I've been getting quite a bit accomplished on my street car though. Just about ready to drive and dyno is set for the 24th. It starts and idles now (thanks to Darth V8r) and I've been taking care of little gremlins as they pop up
Here's an idle and walk around vid I posted up already but it's fun to watch lol. I'll post up my results in the dyno section when I get them.

This car should be home soon. I had the t tops removed and solid roof installed and they're finishing it up now. My wife is having a baby in a few weeks so I will pick it up after the baby is born. I don't want to get stuck 3 hours away and she goes into labor. That would suck. When I get it back all I have to do is install my new wiring harness/holley computer and run my fuel lines and the car should be done. I'm sure there are some little things I'm forgetting but hopefully I'll get to dyno it this winter and be ready for next season. When I get it back I'll do some updates as I'm installing the harness and getting the computer wired up. I can't wait to drive this Beast

update finally
Okay guys. Getting back on this soon. Figured I'd give an update. Just got the car back and it's awesome
Cage upgraded slightly here
Shifter installed and kirkey seats mounted up
Decided to delete my flip up headlights and just do brackets for the covers. I can put the motors back in but I think I'm going to use some stronger fog lights for the headlights. Maybe something off a newer motorcycle. Also, I have some MWC hood rails which are a nice piece for mounting the sides of the hood but Burkhart made some front rails for it as well. You can see these in the pics too. Turned out real nice.
You can see a little lower here he made some mounts for the fog lights as well.
All powdercoated brackets
Looks pretty good
I had him mount the steering shaft also because I couldn't figure it out lol. I probably was just getting tired of messing with it and I needed the steering wheel mount welded too and I didn't want to tackle that myself. You can also see my manual brake master cylinder mounted up with the line lock solenoid attached. I thought this was a nice setup. The black kooks 2" headers are peaking through too. They look pretty slick. I did 3.5" collectors and kooks didn't make an x pipe setup that mounted right up so I had Burkhart make me an adapter piece for it. I don't want to do front exit exhaust yet because it will exclude me from some of the racing I want to participate in and I just don't want them yet anyway.
Pic of my rear panel delete. I did most of it but he pulled the piece off and added some bead rolling to make it stronger. We ended up moving my fuel pump setup to the bottom of this structure because mounted on the tank it was in the way of the exhaust.
This is how I did it before. Thought I had it all figured out lol
Moved my bov valve also. He didn't like where it was sitting.
My lithium battery bracket
Chute all mounted up and release ran along with battery shutoff.
My tubing was hitting the hood after it was all mounted so he modified it a bit and added a bracket to the intake for my throttle cable
Trans cooler mount
CF roof looks better than I though. Always wanted a hard top car lol
Couple pics he sent me before I picked it up

I had to take it over to storage because my garage is packed. Just a few hours left on my street car and I'll bring it back home. It's going to be a big racing year for me next year lol. All that's left is to plumb the vac pump and fuel and install my complete wiring harness from Brian Black (Racewire) and Holley computer. Then install the interior off to tuning. I may take it to Matt Bell to have him take a look at the system but I'm not too sure yet.

I am even more curious how the track goes. Bob @ Brute Speed said he doesn't know of any LS1 aluminum block, single power adder cars with a D1 going faster than 9's. I am hoping to do quite a bit better than that but we'll see.

Thanks guys. Definitely nice to get it back. Now to get started on it. Really curious how it does on the dyno too Darth. They say about 800whp is max for the D1 Procharger. We will have to see how it goes.

Your car looks great!! Yeah, I've seen low 9's out of the D-1SC, but I haven't seen F Body's dip into the 8's. I have a feeling a higher compression ratio and E85 would do it, it will be interesting to see what yours runs. Bob

So maybe 2750 car weight. I'm about 220 so maybe a touch under 3k race weight

That's light, congratulations. I'm use the 3500lbs race weight, no reason for you not to hit the 8's with good 60ft times. Bob
