Default Can anyone tell me how this cam will drive?

I bought this cam and am wondering if anyone can tell my how it drives on an A-4?

I got this write up off of one of the sponser sites:

63-LS-218/224 Comp Cams LS1 Camshaft - 218 / 224 .527 / .534 114 LSA 1600-6500 RPM Power Band. Excellent mid-range torque with good top-end power. Computer Tuning Required. Works well with Crane 1.8 Roller Rockers. (Special Expires 06/30/2004)

Should run smooth and work well with your 80 shot. That's not a big cam at all. Though I would get a converter first.

Do a converter first...then that opens the door for a bigger cam later. Trust me, once you get a cam, it wont be long before you'll want a bigger one. That Comp 218/224 would run just fine in your A4...it would even run ok with no tuning (I still havent tuned my TR224). But my suggestion, still, is do the converter first....from a 12.77, it would put you at a 12.40 or so.

Edit: I re-read your post an see you already bought the cam, not just considering it. In that case, the cam will run fine and you'll like it...get some good valve springs (I have the Scoggin Dickey Kit, Manley springs/Ti retainers...SDPC2000.com)...you dont really need pushrods since you have an A4 and wont be missing shifts and over revving. Also get the cam swap gasket kit from them...it's worth every penny. The lift isnt high so that will be easy on the valve springs... Also look at their double roller timing chain, I have one, they are really nice.

Well actually, one has to match the converter to the cam he is choosing. (for drag purposes).
The TCI SSF 3500 would be a good choice for that cam. Very streetable.
IMO you would also benefit a lot from 1.8-1.85 rockers. That would increase the lift of that cam by 10% . This is a good N2O cam, but you'll need fuel system upgrades to shoot bigger shots.

BTW you can put the cam in, it is irrelative if you put the converter first or not. Try SLP 1.85 rockers.
