Choosing a cam..
I have just installed 2.5" Exhaust system, 1 5/8" Headers, Induction, thermostat, and the rest of the bolton's in my friends 2004 A4 Pontiac GTO (lumina ss coupe in the middle east).
After Strengthening His Transmission, he wants more power installed, he's low in budget and wants to go into internals. I wanted to ask which will be the best camshaft to install for a daily driver w/boltons and a 2800 stall converter?
I'm thinking of LS6 cam/valve springs or comp 212/218/comp 918 valve springs. which do you recommend?
Where not getting ported heads since it will cost a lot. Do you think crane 1.8 rocker kit will work with this kind of combo?
He is also thinking about tuning options.. he wants to get a hand held programmer like predator since he's low in budget but i'm telling him to get an editor like ls1edit or HPtuners and get it tuned outside the country like I did (I went to U.A.E since we don't have a dynometer).

don't waste money on the 1.8 rockers, just get the cam on XE lobes to get the lift... maybe go a bit bigger, like a 216/220 XE lobes on a 114lsa... 1 5/8's sound kinda small for headers on an LS1 IMO...
