Default Gen 3 Rot Assembly in a Gen 4

I have a Gen 3 6.0 rotating assembly and would like to put it in a Gen 4 Aluminum block, I realize the knock sensor placement and cam sensor is different but is the rotating assembly the same? I plan on using the stock rods and crank with new pistons. Thanks for any info.

You are very vague. The Gen III 6.0 stopped mid 2004.5 year but the early Gen IV 6.0 LQ4 kept the same crankshaft reluctor wheel but got the Gen IV/LQ9 style floating rods.

The Gen III rods and pistons are interchangeable with the Gen IV BUT (with the exception of LQ9 rods which are the same as Gen IV) the Gen IV rods are stronger.

The crankshaft COULD be the same for Gen III as some Gen IV motors. I've had a 2005 LQ4 (Gen IV block) with Gen IV rods and a Gen III crank.

I have a 2000 model 6.0 that I would like to take the crank pistons and rods and move to a 2008 6.0 block, will this be a direct swap?

Did u ever try this? I am in need of the same answers. but i want to use a 2003 5.3 block, rods pistons, crank in place of a 2013 camaro ss 6.2 short block. i could use the cam and cam cover and sensor from 6.2 onto the 5.3.. thats actually a question

2003 5.3 short block with the newer came and cover in place of 2013 ss camaro 6.2 can it be done?

crank casting number is the same 12552216 5.3 and 6.2 odd
