The part that sounds like a bunch of crickets in the background? Sounds like lifters singing.

Pull the serpentine belt off, and take a listen.

Pull the belt and see if the noise goes away. If it does, then you have an issue with something its spinning. You can use a long screwdriver, put the handle to your ear and the tip on the various parts and see where the sound is coming from. For the idler or tensioner put the screwdriver on the mount. You will easily find the culprit.

Are you talking about the slight noise that comes in for about 1.5 seconds as the engine settles down from you revving it?

I agree with above suggestion. Easiest way to check a lot of things at once is to pull the belts. Remember there are two; AC runs on its own, smaller belt.

That is valve train - lifter noise, forget about it. If it really bothers yuou add 8ozs of ATF- automatic transmission oil to the engine oil. It will fill the lifters completely and stop the noise.

Its not a belt etc....its typical valve train noise as the valve train unloads. When you rev the engine the valve train loads up.......when you let off the valve train UNLOADS and that is the noise you are hearing. Like I posted above try 8-10 ozs of ATF in the engine oil, it will cause the lifters to fill a little better and tighten up the valve train.
