As many have said in the past, a lot depends on the testing equipment. I have MTI stage II LS6 heads that flowed just under 315 at 650 on a stock bore. They are about 2 years old.

from what I have seen, flow numbers dont necessarily mean that much

Mine only flowed 309 at .600 lift and my car seems to be running/dynoing ok.

Heads don't run by themselves. Cam, intake, valvetrain even stoke have all an effect on how your motor will put #'s down.
IMO "balance" is key word. Do my heads "balance" my set up.

Matters on how much material is taken out and valve size.My old ones done by Jeff were 300cfm at .500,310cfm at .550 and went up from there with 2.02/1.60 valves. That is with a smallish port volume of under 225cc's. Bigger isn't always better

Yhea, im using heavy valves and looking for a nice flow like predator said, to balance it out. I want the best heads for what im looking to do. Im just doing a little research, to make sure of my self. But it seems most guys have the best luck with the ls6 head, nothing wrong with the ls1 head, but seems ls6 does have a slight advantage if done properly.
Thanks for the input, keep it comin.

The flow data isn't really meaningful unless done thru the intake. Many heads will loose between 30 and 50 cfm depending on the head with an intake in place. Get the heads flowed with the intake you'll use. This will give you better flow data.

Should be able to do it on any SF600 and up or similar flow bench. The flow test is done with the intake bolted in place. It's a little more hassle but the data is more useful.
