Default Lq4 oil problems

Hello everyone I'm kinda new to the Ls world or lq world whatever. My question is I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500hd motor and I can't get oil to my rocker arms. I recently rebuild the top end new heads, intake and throttle body everything else is stock. I pulled the valve cover yesterday to see if I was getting oil to the top when I start it

Why did you rebuild the top end?

When you rebuilt the top, did you replace the lifters and clean out the pushrods...?

Yes, I'm just thinking I should start it and see if I get oil to the lifters that way. I will leave the valve covers off.
