Question for anyone who's trashed a lifter
I've been reading some threads on lifters getting trashed and some threads on harmonic dampers, and I began to wonder... Could these things be related? If one or two particular lifters get trashed more often than any of the others, I'm thinking it might be related to harmonic balancer issues, particularly for engines that spin past 6500.

Actually, I lost both lifters on #2 cyl. I was thinking the problem wasn't the oil but the stock harmonic damper not working well past 6500 rpm. If the crank was deflecting beyond the ability of the stock damper to damp it, then the jerking motion as the crank springs back transmitted through the timing gear through the cam may be what's breaking the lifters, not lack of oil pressure.
