Default C5R head rocker arm options

Hey everyone, I have a set of 090 C5R heads at the machine shop getting worked on and i am trying to research various options regarding the rocker arms. I was told that they run a shaft mount rocker setup similar to the LSXDR heads if I am not mistaken. I know C5R heads aren't very common and I know not many people mess with them but if there is anyone that knows what kind of rocker setup that head was designed for and where I could possibly locate them, that would be awesome. I do not have plans for the motor yet, no short block selected yet or any plans. I'm leaning towards a N/A street setup and I am undecided if I'm going solid roller or hyd roller. Thanks

Can anyone confirm that the LSXDR rockers are compatible with the C5R? I remember reading that a while back but cannot find It now. Thank you

I would contact Katech, they have a lot of experience with those heads.

Not getting any replies from katech or jesel, If they are compatible with the lsx dr head, then there are multiple sources for those but I want to confirm that they are compatible. I know the C5R and LSXDR head are both 11 degree heads but I'm clueless regarding their compatibility

I know the dr runners are raised 3/8 inch vs c5r heads. Unsure if that will affect rocker selection. Will affect intake

I found the part numbers from jesels catalog and the C5R and the LSXDR have a different part number which leads me to believe that they are not compatible, or maybe they have subtle differences but I am not sure. Hopefully jesel will reply to my emails.

Katech is pretty good about answering the phone. Give em a call. Quaint and obsolete use of a smartphone I know, but effective.

There's a set of new rocker arms for a LSX DR head for sale on Ebay and the bidding ends tomorrow. Is like to jump on them but I cant find anywhere that mentions that they are compatible with a C5R head, but I swear I read from multiple sources that they were. If anyone could chime in, that would be awesome. If I can get those rockers for a steal, I'll see if they work and worst case if they dont, I'll just resell them. Thanks

I would call Summit or Cranes. Their tech departments can help with many issues. Note also I said CALL.

Just got off of the phone with summit, he said hes not sure about fitment but he gave me 2 part numbers, one for solid roller and one for hydraulic roller.

KSS-318080T

KSS-318080

I called katech this morning and they said the "racing director" was looking into it and would call me back. I'll call jesel next. Anyone familiar with these rockers? They say they'll for gm performance heads but clearly there multiple on the table

Katech sold me a set of those rockers. They gave me a great deal and they were great to deal with. I'll post pics and any manufacturer part numbers for anyone else

Fastest NA non-funny car I could find is 8.12@170. 427 running C5R heads. So yeah, I think they will always have a cult following from people in the know.

Katech also sold me a cam (272/272 @ .050, .670/.670 1.9:1 RAR, 110LSA) valve springs, and retainers. Lifters are next. When I find a suitable block, i will order them because there's 2 sized solid lifters (.937 lifters, have to bore the block, or .842 lifters that will drop right in.)

What intake will you run with those heads? That’s a lot of camshaft.
