Experience with Reman Blocks from Powertrain Products Inc?
Hi all,
I've got a couple questions for those of you who have purchased a remaned block from Powertrain Products.
1. How was your overall experience?
2. Were you satisfied with shipping and packaging?
3. What did you buy, and how has it held up (miles put on it since install)?
4. If you did have any issues, how was your customer service/warranty experience?
Feel free to add any additional info you may deem relevant.
I've got a 2005 1500 Z71 Crew Cab with the 5.3/60e (pretty sure it's a L33). It's got 154k on the original motor and trans, and is suffering from a bad oil pump, mild piston slap, and now a possible head crack. Rather than having it rebuilt, I'm thinking of just swapping it out with a reman block with a good warranty.
I can't justify/afford a new GM block, but Powertrain has a 5.3 (with oil pan and timing cover) with a 4yr/100K warranty. Im just trying to do my research before spending any large amounts of cash. I did look them up on the BBB website and they have a A+ rating and 4.8 out of 5 stars, so that's good news at least.
Thanks in advance for your time and replies.
