Default HELP, Did Cam install, now no oil pressure, PLZ read

I NEVER TOUCHED THE OIL PUMP!!!!!! The car ran for at least 10 sec, and there was ZERO oil pressure. I dont understand!? Is there anything I can do?

Did you check to make sure you didn't unplug/damage the gage? Hopefully that'll be it.

Did you reinstall the camshaft thrust plate (has 4 bolts holding it on between upper timing gear and block) Or you could have dropped some dirt inside the engine that is sticking the relief valve (in the oil pump). The oil pressure sensor is behind the intake manifold though if you want to check that first.

I did put the cam plate back on. Do you think that maybee there is no oil in the pump, therefore its just pumping air?

Was the valvetrain super loud for that whole 10 seconds you ran it? If so, its probably not the guage being off. It should be super loud for maybe 2-5 seconds, and then the sound level should ramp down very quickly.

Was the camshaft easy to install, more to the point did it slide in easily or was there some resistance?
