Well, that's quite a smart setup with that cam it should start to come on at just about 3k and really start to cook ~ 4k. You may be just about right with a 3k stall plus or minus that truck's gonna haul!

Is this in a 5.3? If so, I think its too big. Be prepared to spin to 7000.

Why do you say that? All the dyno graphs I have seen with similar cams peak just over 6k or 6500 for a few depending on which one you install.

dyno graphs from 5.7's, i'm sure, in a smaller 5.3, it will peak higher, and in a truck that weighs 1000lbs more, it will be a dog off the line...

Ok, so I assume with the smaller displacement it would have a higher peak...but do you still believe it won't get moving as fast with a 3000 stall installed? Isn't that were this cam would start to pick up speed?

The biggest camshaft I would consider running in the 5.3l would be something like a 225/225 camshaft...

A 3000 stall really isn't enough to make up the difference. It may pull like a demon in the upper rpms, but the low end will stink and it will be slower than stock. Just as someday said, that extra weight of a truck and the smaller displacement will have a big effect.

that cam is WAYYYY to big for your truck....my friend has a big comp grind in his truck and it runs like a scalded ape from 3500 on, but from a dead stop it wont even hardly spin the tires.
