Default tsp 231 237 vs g5x2

hey everyone i am needing some help. i just bought 6.0 liter heads from jay and they r heavily milled. my current set up is a tr 224 cam and bolt ons. i was told i need pistons with 2cc valve reliefs to run a bigger cam. i am looking to either run a tsp or x2 cam. i am wanting to know how much different drivability is and which one is better for nitrous. i like both cams and are undecided. input is much appreciated thanx. John

give TSP a call and tell them your setup, if the 231/237 is not right for you, then maybe they can offer another alternative. I currently am running their 238/242 cam and with the right tuning tweaks it drives great. Not sure about the best cam for nitrous though.

How fast are you willing to spin your motor?

Once you determine that, you will know what the limits of duration you can get away with is.

It's area under the curve you seek, not peak HP before you shift.

Is a 231/237 right for a motor that won't touch 7100?? Or is a bigger cam?

Look at graphs and think about it.

Look for a smaller cam. Best area? From graphs I'd say you should look at 228/234 for a shift point of 6800. The stock Z06 cam wants 7100. And it's small.

IMO.

Did you have to Flycut your pistons with that Camshaft?

Thanks

We don't like to see the 231.237 camshaft run with anything more than 10 off the heads IMHO either way you'll probably have to cut the pistons to get a bigger camshaft in there.

i definately know i need my pistons cut . i definately like the lope in both of the cams. if i was really concerned about having the most power i would go with an x3 but i don't want to spin my motor that high. my problem is i have never rode in a car with a bigger cam than my 224. i am mainly concerned about which of the two r better on the spray.

I think they are both good for the nitrous use.
You want a lumpy cam and dont want tp spin past 6800 so maybe a custom cam would be a thought. Maybe a 231/237 on a 110 to keep the power band down a bit.
However most people say that a 114 is better for the nitrous use. Going to a 110 might hurt the power a little when on the Nitrous.
Call futural and LG and see what they say.
