help with engine build
i am building currently building up an ls1 but it is hard to decide which way and what combo's will work well. this is what i have come up with so far
-custom ported and polished heads with 2.02/1.57 valves 5 angle job
-new springs (of course) and new 1.7 rockers
-cam specs: Lift: .589/.595 Dur@.050: 231/237 LSA: 114
-stock lower end with arp rod bolts
-stock ls6 intake
-nos noszle system 150-200hp
-1 5/8" primary header to either 2 1/2" dual exhuast
-4l60e trans with 2600-3000 stall converter and complete overhaul (havent decided or know whats best yet)
rear end will be the 10 bolt with 3.42 and powertrax posi
race weight of the vehicle will be about 3900 and looking to get into the high 10's with the n20
any feedback or advice would greatly help because i dont have any shops around that want to help me since this motor is going into a s10

with those bigger ratio rockers your lift would be around 641/647 lift. that is rediculous. If you want a cam that size stick with the 1.7 ratio. if not you will need some hell of expensive springs to support that kind of lift. Also go with a LS6 intake man. do not get cheap if you are forking over some cash now. the ls1 intake will work but why not get the best avaliable for a budget minded person. you can pick up a fairly new one on here for around 300. just some thoughts.
