Default everyone who has aftermarket cam please help

ok if i get a decent cam, one thats streetable but offers great gains, and i get a good set of heads, i will also use chromeoly pushrods, now does anyone suggest i should get forged pistons and rings? what else is recommended to get rid of the piston slap and make my motor string so it doesnt blow up with the ported heads and cam will the stock crank be ok for roughly 400-430 rwhp? will the stock rear hold up to this? thanks guys

for a boosted/nitrous car..forged bottom end wouldnt hurt. but the stock block will also be ok for your 400-430 provided the tuning is good.

If you just want to drown out the piston slap noise, turn up the stereo.

If it is so obvious, you should take it to your dealership and have them repair it.

If it's out of warranty anyway, I'd experiment with thicker oil...speaking of which, what are you running currently? And what filter?

Mine got super-quiet with Mobil-1 5W-40, their "Delvac-1" label. They now sell a Mobil-1 5W-40 labeled "Truck and SUV".

Convienient. Sounds to me like they just don't want to deal w/ it. IMO.

bluecmaro96 what other mods do you have. Headers. TB, Stall, what else. Is your car an M6 or A4 this will play into how long your rear end will live.

Common? Yes. Normal? No. If there was nothing wrong, there would be no piston slap. Take it to a different dealer.

Some have said they have gotten newer LS6 blocks when they found a good service manager that really wanted to fix the problem and not just re-ring it.
Goto http://pistonslap.com/ and read all about it.
