Default Will it drive 100 miles to tunning spot???

I'm getting ready to install a bunch of parts that i recently bought and i'm wondering if i'll be able to drive to eastside to get it tuned. Parts are A/S stage 2.5 5.3L heads, ported 78mm LSX, ported BBK TB, Harland sharp RR,Comp "R" springs and SVO 30 LBS injectors. Car already has a TSP 231/237 cam and is running on a eastside tune for my old TR224 cam. The drive is over 100 miles and mostly highway. Any help would be great. Thanks Shawn

It won't be able to handle the injectors without a tune, you'll have to put the stockers in to make it, IMO. With stock injectors, untuned, and as long as you dont hammer on it too much, it should be fine. I drove my last H/C setup ~300 miles without tuning fwiw. Make sure your preload is 100% right with those springs/rocker arm/shim combo though. Shopuld be a stout setup, good luck, Shawn

You may want to wait and swap in the injectors when you get there. The 30LB. injectors will act like 36's on LS-1 fuel pressure. It will cause you to run very rich and possibly wash out your rings. Other than that I would think it would be fine.

I noticed HS rockers (non adjustable) with Comp "R" lifters. That is a no no if you do not want to reopen everything pretty soon.
Comp "R" lifters need adjustable rockers, they work well with 1.75 magnums.
Preload needs to be adjusted right on these or they will fail.
There is no need for those on your setup, Check Crane or Comp. replacements if you want to keep the HS's.

The 977 is a stout *** spring. My engine buddy swore they were solid roller springs, but I finally convinced him otherwise.

Destroyer,
1- You do not need those springs. PP patriot "gold" .650 lift are more than plenty.

2- No matter how "right you do it" you cannot adjust a non adjustable rocker. There are plenty 1.7:1 adjustables there. .008> .010 preload needed.
The only way to do this with non adjustables is to do some serious calculations and have a set of custom p-rods built. Off the shelf p-rods do not fall in the range needed.

3- If you do not believe this call Comp Cam and talk to a "Tech" not a salesman.

4- Read this:

5.0 Ford guys have been shimming rocker arms and using non-adjustable rocker arms for 20+ years. It CAN be done, safely and successfully, it just takes some time to get it right. Definitely not a torque and you're done setup like OEM lifters/rockers.
