Default how long (miles) before you dyno?

I have my new 388 running (car isn't quite drivable yet but getting there....still need to put stuff together) but I'm wondering how long do people usually wait before they go jump on the dyno. The engine MIGHT have 30 mins total run time on it so far. I was always under the belief of "don't do anything for 5,000 miles" but I am hearing from people that within 10 miles the ring have seated fully and if something was going to come apart it would have so just get on the dyno when you can so you can get it tuned (which means WOT).

Input?

I would wait at least until they get the car tied down correctly to the dyno before going WOT.

Seriously, if you want to play it safe, do some varied driving but no sustained WOT runs for a few hundred miles. Don't "baby" it, just don't push it to limits and hold it there.

Both the Camaro and the Vette were driven "moderately" for 500mi mostly to seat the rear and trans gears. Both cars dyno'd very well, and ran very strong with little oil consumption.

ok.....

well I have cranked it a few times checking for oil leaks/noises/etc....standard stuff. When I get the car running I'll hit the back roads.
