Default How many quarts?

I`m planning to go with royal purple this week with my oil change. How many quarts do I need to get to fill her up(5-6) . I love what royal did for my moser, really took most the whine out of the rear. I seen on horsepower TV they replace all the fluids with royal. Gained about 8rwhp from beginning dyno. Not bad! Thanks!!!

mine too...but plan on buying a little extra..the LS1 is notorious for needing a little more before the next oil change. I usually have to add a quart about every 2000 miles or so.

i thought about that horsepower thing for a while, then i realised they are a paid sponsor, so obviously they arent going to post anything bad about them on the show... just a thought

If you take any high G, high rpm, long left hand corners, like a long sweeping on ramp, at 5.5 quarts, you run a real risk of uncovering the oil pickup tube and starving the motor.

the owners manual calls for 5.75 quarts doesn't it? i ALWAYS use 5.75 quarts of mobil 1 10w30, and 6 quarts of 15w50 in my truck...royal purple motor oil sucks big ***** by the way, mucho gummy after 3k miles.

anywhere between 5.75 and 6 quarts. the 6L filter is the same size if its for a 2003+ the older ones took a slightly larger filter.

I don't use it but Used Oil Analysis (UOA) have shown that Royal Purple Racing 41 is a very good oil.

I bet if we put a straight 10 weight or a light 10-20 weight oil in our cars we could make even more hp, but it would not last long. I ran Royal Purple before and have no complaints, however, there are several people on this site that have way more experience with oil than I do and they do not recommend it (at least not the regular stuff, the racing 41 stuff is better but way too much). I have since switched back to Amsoil (which I would have run anyway if anyone around here carried it), and just order it before I need it.
