Only do this if you have space (you are under the fill mark). DO NOT go over the fill mark as this will cause LOTS of windage problems.
I would say just go drive it and next top off use thicker.

And this happened in your LS1? Like I said, tons of guys out there run 1 to 1.5 over in the LS1, with no ill effects. Just as mitchntx, he's been running 7qts in his 98TA when roadracing, since the car was new, and he's got over 90k on his motor now.
