hydra-rev kit

The iron head is the Impala\Caprice engine. The Aluminum version is on the LT1 (F-Body). I haven't seen a Hydra for the LS1's yet either.

I know ARE used to, but I think they stopped producing them due to cost and poor sales. The kit fit beneath the head in the lifter gallery, eliminating the lifter retainers. It consisted of twelve CNC-machined billet aluminum guide plates, and a set of sixteen small diameter valve springs. They applied pressure directly to the lifter to keep it in contact with the cam lobe. From what I remember it created a small amount of valvetrain noise, but far less than a solid lifter set-up. It would be nice to have a worry free 7000+ redline. I would give ARE a call and see if they are still avalable
