Default What cam should I choose?

I'm new to modding cars, but I wanted to do a little research before choosing a cam.

Please chime in and let me know what direction to head.

I am looking for an emission friendly cam that will go well with a future heads upgrade.

Here's my limitations:
Emission friendly
Compatable with stock bottom end (I assume 6500 redline correct me if I can go higher)
No poor idling qualities (slight lope O.K.)
Maybe a little n2o use at the track (100 shot or less)

Here's what I'm thinking so far:

Comp Cams
Xtreme RPM 224/228 w .534/.537 Lift 112 LSA
or
Xtreme RPM High Lift 222/224 w .566/.568 Lift 112 LSA
or
Xtreme XE-R 224/230 w .581/.588 Lift 114 LSA

Later Mod

AFR 205 CC Mongoose heads

i think a t1 would meet all your requirements, as well as make great power. i really like mine. they are easily found used, and will be cheaper than the others you listed. just my two cents.

A TR 224/224 114 will work well. It has a little lope, but not much. Definitly emmision friendly. I have one and spin the bottom end to 6600 RPM, and it's safe. However the cam peaks at 5800, and the torque is insane for a cam this small.
