How long can synthetic oil be trusted in the car? I run Mobil 1, and am on a 4000 mile interval, but it takes me over a year to put that on, thus the worry. Thanks!

You can definately put more than 4,000 miles on Mobil 1. However, I would still change the oil after one year.

Once a year in your case is a safe interval. I think 6k or one year is a pretty good rule of thumb, although if you do a ton of highway driving it's completely safe to go 10k. Beyond 10k is something I'd only recommend doing if you're going to do an oil analysis.

I'm going 6000 miles with my Mobil 1 super syn 0w-40 and 80% of my miles are all highway.

I have only had my LS1 since Nov, only 2000 miles, so I cannot help about the light, I am curious to know though!

I run mobil 5K between intervals. I also use a K&N filter (hp1007).
