ticking sound(drag racing)...lifters????

ticking sound(drag racing)...lifters???? When I am at the track and at the big end of the track the engine starts a slight tap and once I slow the car down and turn up the return lane the noise goes away. Any ideas...

You are spraying right? Could be the increased cylinder temps are causing the rings to expand taking to much oil off the walls. Or your oil pump could be lacking a little at the high high rpms then it catches back up once you bring it back down.
