Will I be able to drive the car after cam install?

Like jrp said, you will be fine. You may be surprised just how normal it does drive.
The A4 part is your only issue, I helped a bud put a 224 in and he did not get it turned for months, ran like a champ and started like stock. it was a M6 though.

The guy that is puttin the cam in has advised me that since I have to drive to get tuned (about an hour and a half) the cam may cause misfires leading to my TC locking and unlocking which may cause the tranny to heat and get damaged? Any experience with this? Thanks

i just installed a 222/224 .566/.568 114 in my M6 a few weeks ago and it runs fine without a tune.... it started right up with NO problems at all....
i broke in my dual springs with about 5 heat cycles before taking it to redline...
DAMN! cams are bad ***!
i have a little low speed surging but not much! and it idles perfect at 750rpm...
you should be fine!
although every car is different and some cars taking longer to adjust to big changes.
