Default Change Heads or Heads and Cam?

You need to look at these 2 threads first.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/193964-opinions-please.html
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/195101-help.html

My customer is contemplating changing the heads and cam again or maybe just the heads. He is looking at MTI ported LS6 heads and a MTI 224/224 .581/.581 114. (a C2 on a 114) I personally don't feel there is enough difference in his misground Stealth II 224/221 .576/.581 116+4 to make much difference. I feel the head change would make a lot of difference since his S2E heads seem to be under achievers by their flow chart. Keep in mind, this C5 will probably never see the track or street race and driveability and manners are an issue. Also, he pays for his installs and tuning so we need to look at what is cost effective. Can anyong give a reasonable estimate of what changing the heads and cam will gain him vs just changing the heads. I'm guessing the new cam would have the +4* too, but I'm not sure.

The head numbers are lower than advertised but the variance could be in the benches used.

I think he is wasting his money going for a different set of heads. Most I would do is a camp swap. BUT I would go a LOT bigger than the 224/224.

That cam will make nearly identical power.

Is he sold on stealth?

I wouldn't say he is sold on stealth, but being a little older, he probably would not like to put up with driveability issues someone younger might put up with.

hmm something like a 228/228 on 114LSA would work well for him with tuning I think and make a decent gain over the stealth cam.

Dont bother buying from a vendor have it ground directly from Comp. Then you know exactly what you are getting. It'll be around 400 bucks.

What rpm range is he looking at? Are cats on the car? If cats are on the car I'd consider something in the 228/232 on 114LSA range. That with a medium stall torque converter would be a great package.

The mods are listed in the dyno thread and the car got 3.42 gears and a Yank SS3200 converter last week. I also understand that driveability is very subjective. I'm really just trying to get some knowlegable opinions for my customer to read here. I've already given him my opinion.

no offence but but i think your customer is being a bitch about his numbers. he stated at a low point and gained ~80rwhp w/ h/c, whats tocomplain about.

I'm not trying to beat a dead horse here. I need sone opinions on what gains, while keeping driveability another heads or heads/cam combo will gain. MTI is working with him on some kind of resolution and swapping parts may be an option.

The heads are fine, IMO.

A slightly more aggressive camshaft would provide him with more gains.
