Default Fm13 vs. TSP custom Torquer

Im debating between these two cams as of the moment.

I cant recall the specs on the FM13 but i think its like 230/232 or close to that.

and the TSP Torquer is a 233/233 and not sure of the rest, and im too lazy to go look up the specs right now..

But I was just wondering your opinions on both cams.

Thanks

I almost went with the Torquer camshaft... went with 231/237 instead. Supposedly the Torquer makes great power in the midrange, so it's actually a good street cam for being so big... A friend of mine when with the FM11, and he's happy with that one... sounds really nice and I'm sure the FM13 sounds even meaner.

Personally, from looking at the specs of those cams they'd be really close... I'd say within 5 rwhp of each other. Probably boils down to personal preference, although I don't think you'll go wrong with either one.

w/o much data on the tsp 233 my vote would be the FM13. FMS cams seem to make more power then cams with 2 to 8* more duration.

We've never compared our 233/233 camshaft to Futral's FM13. If you want a cam that's more proven than our 233/233, then you may consider our 231/231. I'm running this camshaft in my '02 SS A4, and it's great. It will give you right at the same HP as the 231/237 but with some added mid-range torque. It feels great in my car, and I daily-drive it. Both our 231/231 and 231/237 camshafts are regularly-priced at $360 + shipping. Normal gains with the 231/231 or 231/237 in a car with full bolt-ons and stock cylinder heads is 45-50 RWHP over the stock camshaft. Without trying two similar camshafts such as the FM13 and our 231/231 or 233/233 in the same car with a controlled environment (i.e. same tuning, a/f ratio, mods, tire pressure, air temp, etc.), it's hard to say that one will make more power over the other. You are going to end up with very similar results.

I'm on vacation, so I cannot check my e-mail. However, I can check PM's. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. You can also shoot Jason an e-mail at jason@texas-speed.com.

I have a F11 and am very happy the F13 isn't that much nastier at idle. The futral cams make great tq. too. If I did it again I'd go F13.
