Default 2001 LS6 Block??

I read something that said that some 2001 and 2002 trans ams had an LS6 Block in them? is this true and how how would i know if i have one? also the intake manifold on the 2001 is the LS6, right?

Yes on the ls6 intake and I think the block will have a number on the front near the heads????Maybe someone will help?LS 6 block is not really better then ls1 little better internal breathing.

12561168 is the LS6 block.

A cast-in 12651168 denotes a LS6 block. There is another way but not too sure how accurate it is but there is a bulls eye located on the block on the passenger side just below the head if you have this I believe it’s a LS1 block if no bulls eye it's a LS6 block.
