Default ASP PULLYS and double row timing chains

Does any know how much to machine off the pully so it will work with double row chain?

It depends on how old the pulley is. If it has a date of 8/03 or newer, it dosen't have to be machined. Anything older will.

how do you know when yours was manufactured? bought my pulley used and the guy told me he had it since april 03 and i didnt have to machine it to fit my rollmaster double. i thought it was mostly the c5's that had clearance issues?

if the hub is steel, it has to be machined, if aluminum, no

There is a DOM date on the pulley. Just like the aove poster said if it was made ofter 8/03 then you are good to go

How hard is it to machine the pulley, I bought mine in arround Aug 02, and I'm planning on putting in the double timing chain with the new cam...

What do you have to do to the pulley to get it to fit?

Not true. I had major clearence isuues and didnt know it untill I pulled it off. Do a search, thats how I knew how much to get milled off.

The date is stamped on the face of the pulley. You should be able to read it on the car if needed. I would think the reason most people didn't have problems is because not many double rollers were avalible before 8/03.

Mine has been on for more than a year and we didn't touch the pulley.
