Default REV Limiter with Patriot Heads?

How many rpm’s am I save to set the rev limiter?

How many rpm’s should I shift?

On the dyno, my peak hp is at 6200 rpm’s. I was thinking set my shifts at 6200 or 6300 and my limiter at 6500 or 6600.

Does that sound reasonable?

its not so much the heads that effect your peak as it is cam. with a 6200 peak i'd set the limiter at 6600 and shift at 6500.

it depends on your risk tolerance level....
the stock rod bolts are sketchy above 6,500 rpm!
but its up to you! my cam is still making power at 6200 but ill set the limiter at 6,300rpm and shift at 6-6,200 and play it safe!

to me your not gaining much my reving it past 6,500, but you are rolling the dice...

but lots of guys on here rev the **** out of there cars! and thats cool but for me....id play it safe ....

he's got an 01, they have the upgraded rod bolts.

Hugger your leaving power and a faster e.t on the table by shifting that low. im pretty sure your cam peaks at ~6200 and carries power well to 6600.

Hey JRP,have you ever heard of anyone setting their limiter at the desired shift point? You could power shift without letting off the gas since the limiter would hold the rpm down.Would that work?????

Thanks for the input.

I think I will set my shift points at 6300 and my rev limiter at 6500.

Due to my tranny not wanting to shift from 2nd to 3rd at WOT I've been afraid to have my shift points above 6000 rpm's.

I ordered the FLP Level 4 Transmission and as soon as I get it installed I will raise my shift points to 6300 rpm's.

Regards,

Al
