Install the headers first, then go for the cam...

as for springs, I'm using the Patriot Gold Duals, with titanium retainers. Great springs and can't beat the price... $295 for the whole kit from Texas Speed.

One of our buddies has one. Very nice sounding cam. Haven't seen the dyno #s yet.

I agree with headers. You will also NEED a tune. So plan on getting LS1 edit, or a Predator, or HP Tuner...something. The car will not run right without tuning the cam in.

I would also recommend a double roller chain & ported oil pump if you plan on doing much racing. 99s & 00s have more oil pump problems, but they're all suspect. And a good set of rocker arms & pushrods would be a good investment too. Once you start cranking 6500 rpms, the weak points show up.

Learn from my mistake I bought an Fm13 before headers and that was the worst thing I couldve ever done. Get the headers first and then the cam. With a cam that size you will have a lot of EGR going on choking up performance. Healthy cams with decent overlap are VERY SENSITIVE to exhaust back pressure

Definately do headers first. I really liked the Jet Hots on my 99. They fit great. I ran the 918s in my car with no problems at all with the FM11. They will be changed out this winter though for some Patriot golds.

I was very happy with my FM11 #'s. Full bolt ons, Jet Hot LTs, X pipe got 401 hp and 395 tq. I just sold this car to my cousin though. I will be ordering another FMS cam for my 02 SS. Not for sure if im going to go with the FM11 again or try the FM13 this time.
