Question Broken ISKY 295D

Broke on me Thursday. ATAP'd today, misfires are at 120 on cylinder #2 after 1 minute of logging, all other cylinders are fine.

Question.

Do you recommend I pull the heads to check for damage or just replace the springs ( I plan on Patriot dual golds with CStaub's locks ) ?

ISKY are dual springs; I haven't pulled the valve covers yet to see if I can see the brokn spring ( and if it's an internal spring, I won't see damage ).

Motor is a forged 346 with notched pistons, stock rods with ARP rod bolts.

11K on the new motor; I had planned on checking springs over the winter, looks like I should have checked sooner.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Pull the covers and take a look. Go TDC on #2 remove them and inspect. Normally it is the inner spring that breaks. If so there is less possibility of PV contact.
Another trick if you have any connections is to get a hold of an endoscope to pay the piston a visit via the plug hole.(That is why i like dating nurses )

The Isky 295D is not a double spring. The inner wire is a damper.

I have seen Isky retainers worn through.

How much lift are those springs seeing?
