What would you spin this cam at?
MTI R1- 232/236 575/578 114. The car has a new forged shortblock, MTI stage 2 heads, with dual springs and YT 1.7 rockers. It's an M6 with 373's. MTI suggested the rev limiter at 6600 and the shift light at 6400. Everthing I've read and everyone I've talked to has a different opinion within a few hundred rpms. Eventually, I'll spray 150 wet shot and probably shift a little early, but on motor, where do you think the optimum shift and rev limiter rpms would be? I wonder where the power will fall off?
The motor will go in this week and get just a base tune. After 1-2000 miles, I'll go back for the full tuning for spray and have all the answers, but need some suggestions for now. Thanks!

You gotta throw it on the dyno and see where the powerband is. Too hard to tell looking at specs alone. I would guess it would peak around 6600 or so, but thats just a guess. I would start with that, or 6800 as a rev limiter

Based on personal experience with another car, shifting at 6,600 and setting the rev-limiter at 6,800 made for the lowest ET's. Every car is different, however. You're going to need to get on the dyno and figure out where your setup wants to be shifted.

I will be installing this cam next week" and the guy's I talked to said it made power through 6800rpm and to set shift points in the 66-6700 range. Do you have it running and if so how does it Idle and does it have a nice lope? Keep us posted on your results. The best way to set the shift points is at the track!
