Default ARP Head Studs

Which holes in the block do the shorter of the thicker studs go into? TIA.

Did you have the block honed with the studs installed and torqued?

When I had the main studs installed, the machne shop did check to see if the main caps would need to be rehoned.

For this post, I am talked about head studs

I was talking about the cylinders also...

The studs do not enter the water jackets correct? So only assembly lube is required right?

They are dry holes. You can throw some oil on there and snug them up

Well yes…

The OEM head bolts are torque to yield. The ARP studs are not, so they could torque the cylinders out of shape. It’s best to have the cylinders honed with the studs installed.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong…
