Also the above post is not a slam on anyone else in this thread but has just been my experience in general so far talking to real people on the net and LS1Tech about what has happened to them since the right questions and such were never asked of them when their stuff was built. Some of them have had issues and some have been fine but couldn't do what they wanted when they realized that the parts they had were not right. The problem is that 90 percent of the people selling engines and shortblocks and engine work in general on this site don't actually have anything to do with those services at all. They are not even in the loop except at the cash register so how can they even know what is going on with your stuff then?

I build and check every dimension on the engine.I am not someone just taking a dollar. When a customer calls,I answer the phone and I turn the wrenches. The machining services performed are second to none.Everything is custom built to the customers needs.

You can get whatever compression you want depending on heads and displacement. The iron block is stronger than the aluminum block and of course has the larger bore. Strength is dependent on many things like tne and intended usage as well as parts such as pistons and rings etc.

How you setup the parts in the engine is also critical to how much power or abuse it will take before you have problems. You can't always fix all these problems at assembly time unless you have an in-house machine shop like we do. We have to hone in extra cylinder wall clearance sometimes or hone in more pin clearance etc. Sometimes things don't really clear like they should either. Sometimes the factory line hone is really big and you have low oil pressure etc. We fix things like that since it happens more than you'd think. How many LS1 deals on this board seem to have abnormally low oil pressure? There's reasons for this usually believe it or not. Few shops are checking real P to V on longblocks and the results on real race engines can be disastrous as it can also on street engines. Just remember that someone can always do a worse job for cheaper! We are not selling cheap shortblocks but we still have prices that are at or below the averages on most of these boards and we do every one of them like they are a 1000hp all out engine.
I'm working on some all forged setups that we can keep in stock besides the strokers and our prices are competitive on that stuff too.
