Default engine is sluggish

I did a search and it came up with O2 sensor I want to get another opinion.

This had started a while back and just got worse over time. At idle the engine is fine but when I get into it the engine gets a little sluggish and the exhaust sound changes also (just sounds sick). When I go WOT its even worse, its really sluggish and starts to back fire.

Also I have had the (low traction) light come on and the (abs inop) light come on. I tried turning the traction control button on but it just stayed off. When I would turn thr car off and back on then every thing would go back to normal.

I also had auto tap hooked up to the car and every thing came up to be fine

TIA,
Warren

Damn dude, you just can't win can you? I had somewhat of a problem like that in my 96 Z. It turned out to be a bad MAF. Seems like anything that would make you car run that bad would throw a code. Lots of things could cause it. Anything from the MAF, O2's, or even the TPS. Autotap should be able to show what is up with any of these.

Did any of this happen after adding Mods? Sometimes a simple tune helps if there are no codes and you MAF is working.

Yeah if its not one thing its another . I took it over to B&M and brad is the one who hooked up the auto tap. I also had him ride with me, he was kinda confused also. This started to happen before I tore my engine down to find the ticking. Oh yeah I replaced the oil pump o-ring, the lifters and the temp. sensor sending unit. No more low oil pressure, no more ticking and I have good temp. now.

Now, I have this damn problem . I want to fix everything before next friday so I can run my car at the track.

Try swapping in a few parts from BJ's car. I'd start with the MAF and TPS sensor. Both will throw off your A/F and cause flooding which would lead to sluggish performance and back firing. Swap them one at a time of course.

ok, well I just swapped bj's maf and tps to my car and it still ran like ****! Then I got under the car and found some wires that were melted from the headers which ran to the 02 sensors. I fixed all of that and she is still running like ****.

The car is still pulling pretty damn hard but I don't think she is putting out all that she has. While at WOT it pops a lot and does a little hesitating. So should I get some new 02 sensors and see if that will fix it.

Poping sounds more like a igniton related problem. Maybe some sort of misfire or possiblly a bad coil. If that was the case, it should have shown up in a cylinder misfire check on the A-tap. At least you have removed two factors from the equation now.

Just so this thread will not suck if someone does a search and finds there was no fix posted.

I replaced the spark plugs and she runs great now.
