Default 228/228 .588/.588 112 Cams Power Range and Shift Point?

I just put the Comp 228 XE-R in my car, and i'm assuming the powerband is something like 2000 - 6800, so I have my rev limiter set at 6900 and my shift light set at 6700. I was wondering if anyone knows if this is correct or if I should be shifting it lower? It's on stock heads (exhaust ports are ported to match the size of the header gasket is the only thing done to them) with stock 346 bottom end with the rest of the mods in my sig. Thanks for any info guys!! <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Depends on how much advance you have, but 6700 should be plenty.

FWIW, If you have a stock bottom end, I'd shift at no more than 6600.

My 230/230 112LSA 0 advance XE-R cam peaks at ~6300.

I have my shiftlight set for 6400rpm (I actually shift 1-2 around 6700rpm and 6600rpm for 2-3 and 3-4.

Yours could peak be a "little" lower.

Cheers,
Chris

Sorry, I didn't realize that I needed to include the degrees of advance in this to get an idea. It has 4 degrees of advance ground into it. So what you guys think, where should I set my light at, cuz it feels like it's pulling the entire way up to where I shift with my light set at 6700, but if that's too high, i'd rather shift lower so I save the wear and tear anyways, you know what i'm sayin?
