Default Wassup with dat?

I have an '03 Silverado with the 5.3l. During my search of mods, I read where the stock cam has is 190/191 .466/.457 114 lsa. This is obviously a dual pattern cam. Normally on dual pattern cams, the exhaust lift is higher than the intake. What is the benefit of having the intake larger than exhaust? Does the slightly longer exhaust duration make up the difference in lift?

If it is better to have the exhaust lift higher, can I change the rocker ratio for the exhaust valves only from a 1.7 to 1.85? This change will increase the lift to .497. I know that a cam change would be ideal, but install cost between rockers and a cam is great.

install cost between a cam and rockers isn't that high. Since to go to a 1.85 it is reccomended you also replace the springs. once you add the totals up things are pretty even. The cost of the rockers and cam are basically even. Both will need a spring set. The cam will give you much more performance gain for your dollar.
