Anyone using the Rev dual valvesprings for stock valve pockets?
REV Dual Valve Springs, 1.25" OD (For stock spring pocket) Must use with 54-SC221 Hardened Seats & 54-TR9814 Titanium Retainers
Just curious if these are a better way to go over the Comp 918's for a lift of about .56x. If they are do they just drop right in?

I am also running the Rev 1116 Dual Springs. No machining was needed, so far no problems. I have put about 2000 miles on my car with the springs and 5 runs at the drag strip.

i bought these but have not installed them yet. i assume you also bought the new valve seals since they do not come with the new hardened seats.

I've installed a set of these on a car with a .581 lift. Very nice setup, fit in the pockets nicely. You will likely want to get new stem seals. You could reuse the ones that you pull off, but just to be on the safe side just pick some up and replace them. You can see pictures of the install off my website under the C5 Cam Swap.

REV 1116 dual springs with West Coast Cylinder Head's Titanium Retainers/Hardened seats. I used new valve seals and did not have to do any machining/modifying to make them work. 7000 hard miles and 3-4 harder trips to the track on the current set. Using 224/.581/112 cam here.
I plan on going back with another set of these springs in 3-5 months when I freshen the valvetrain up. Maybe a bit more aggressive cam.

Whats the downside to using rev 1116 springs?
compared to 918's?
Why don't more people chose the rev 1116 dual springs ?
If its cost? how much more expensive would it be than 918's?
Is it noise? Is it performance or durability issues?
Is it tougher to install to the exacting standards with the heads on the car?
What about timing chain? Is that something to do? if so how much more is something like that and is that a good idea?

I have the REV duals for my G5X1.
For a cam as you stated (.56x) lift, i'm sure the 918s would do the job just fine.

Im running the revs for about six months now with thunders 224 561 112 cam. Have about 6000 miles on them and approximately 20-25 passes. There a great spring and I have had no problems. There a guy up here in minnesota who is running them on a ASA road race motor that lives at 6500 rpm and he stands behind them too.

Thanks guys...I believe the rev 1116 dual spring gives you added safety and costs and installs just about the same as the 918's. Its not a harder install..it doesn't rob any power and lasts just as long between maintaince intervals

Is it harder on the drivetrain? Does it make more noise?
I don't get it. It seems it would be a slam dunk to buy just for the fact you don't have to worry about spring breakage...(having in the past been the one weak link to cam installs with other springs)

I thought the REV was a nice setup. However just like the 918 there have been some small instances of broken REV's as well. Overall it's going to be a nice setup.

What are the specs on each of these springs. Seat load @ height, load at lift, spring rate, coil bind height?

Deciding to use them depends on your cam choice.
