completly stock except cam? What cam would run well and make good power in an A4 car that retains stock exhaust, (cutout and maybe a catback), stock heads, ls1 intake. only changes would be say: lid, catback, cam, springs, cutout, and higher stall verter. I would think a 218 224 .530 (maybe higher lift) on a 114LSA. The higher exhaust duration because of the stock exhaust manifolds, but would the ls1 intake restrict the intake enough to go to an even # on the duration (int/ext)? 114 LSA for idle quality in an A4. Lift being lower because the stock heads. Probably need some tuning but, how much and what should be changed?

Re: completly stock except cam? Even with the LS1 intake, if you're not going to have headers I believe a traditional split cam is better. But the truth is most of the LS1 cams made would probably run well and meet your very general requirements. I think the determining factor will be what kind of emissions testing you have: none, OBDII, or sniffer.
