Default anyone familiar with the fm9 cam?

specs of it are 232/236 .585/.598

yes i tried the search, but did not find much

how is the idle? is the clearance ok with stock heads? my main worry is that the car is a daily driver and for now, i only have 3.42 gears on an m6, and im assumming the cam will like 4.10 gears much better, should I be ok with 3.42 for the time being (while i save up enough $$$ for a new rearend), or will the surging be a little too much?

i'm gonna be running tsp's 231/237 595/598 112 on stock 3.42's for a while, i'm in the same boat as you(savin up for a rear-end). she shouldn't be too unmanagable, just gotta keep her a little higher in the rpm range. clearence should be fine with stock heads. idle will be pretty nice on a 112 if you get her tuned in well.

the fm9 is actually on a 114 lsa, so im hoping the idle shouldn't be too bad with good tuning.

How are the ramps on the FM cams? Good or bad for spring life? I need a no-maintence open track cam.

FM using cam motion lobes, which are very aggresive, more so than the comp xe-r lobes. Valve spring life will be a concern. Probably need to check them every 15k to 20k miles.

yep, the cam is probably hell on valvesprings. im already planning on checking them every 10k miles, maybe replace them every 15k-20k depending on how they look.
