Help.....Vette won't start after 427 swap.
Ok, Got the motor in. The only things changed from the stock set up are a C5-r based 427, clutch, heads, cam, headers, intake (f.a.s.t.), and all the sensors (ie. oil sending unit, coolant temp, crank/cam sensors, oil temp, and the MAP sensor.
Anyway the car won't start. as soon as you hook up the battery the cooling fans come on, and the door chime beeps 4 or 5 times every 30 secs or so. The fuel pump is not turning on (no fuel pressure), and the temp guage is reading about 270 degrees. Power windows also don't work.
Anyideas what it could be? The computer was reprogramed during the motor swap? Anyone thing it could be the BCM?

LOL i know Y. Check on the driver side behind the head. There should be 3-4 wires. One of them is the fuel pump ground. Make sure you bolt them back to the head (All of them.)

If you fuel pump is not coming on it is you ground. Go out side. Put you hand he the heads. Check to see if there are any loose wires. IF so they are O holes so a bolt can go though them.

Check grounds first. There is two of the small wire grounds on the block and one on the head, location 1 is behind the drivers side head 2 wires on one eyelet. Location 2 is above the starter on the same bolt that the negative battery cable uses, the other one on the block is completely opposite side as the neg battery cable on the drivers side though. There is a block-frame ground strap on that same bolt also. Ground wires will almost always be black and use small M10 bolts.

can't check the codes b/c (getting no comm. with the scanner). The computer had a ed write tune but was tuned by a guy in Raleigh-Durham this time. can't remember if the gauges sweep when it tries to start....I will look at that tonight. (what does it mean if they are not sweeping?).
When it was tuned I took the computer out of the car and brought it to this guy....the BCM was still in the car

Not to be a Monday morning QB, but you've involved too many people in your project. One thing that I've learned from having experiences like yours, insist on a single point of contact for all aspects of a complcated mod program. When I went the 427 route in 2002, I initially considered having Cartek build the engine and having a local (Atlanta) shop do the installation and tuning. A little voice whispered to me that if it all went bad, these guys would be pointing fingers at one another. So I made the 800+ mile drive to NJ and had Cartek handle the total deal. I've been smiling ever since.

there is also a single black ground wire on pass side near starter, that will cause simular problems, I had on do that to me,comes out of
the harness that goes to the starter exciter wire. (crank signal from key) when that is not connected it makes everything messed up, there should be a ground wire also on each head

sorry for the late reply....there were four pinched wires on the pass side.
After that we got that damn p1514 code. Had the computer tuned by a local guy in durham and it works fine.
