Default Comp R lifter install

Does orientation of lthe lifter matter as long as the roller is aligned with the cam lobe? I have noticed that the lifters have a small hole near the top of the lifter. Does that hole matter if it faces the front or rear of the block?

SOAK THEM IN OIL OVERNIGHT BEFORE INSTALLING AFTER YOU WASH THE COSMOLENE OFF WITH MINERAL SPIRITS...in case you didnt know.
