Analyze my spark plugs and tell me what is going on....
I pulled a couple plugs today. They have oil on them and they are a little lighter on the tip that anywhere else. Does that mean detonation and bad rings?

assuming you are showing some smoke out your tailpipe, you probably have bad seals in the head, but can't be sure, you need to do a compression check on the holes, is it happening to all plugs? from my experience, and it varies from all owners---except the heavy foot syndrome---is that the heads aren't considered the best from the factory, you probably need to check all your plugs, if it is on every plug, you may have one set of problems, if not you will have a different avenue to follow...but check the plugs first then do compression check, then follow it by a keak down test!!!
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Detonation is indicated by pits on the electrode and/or ceramic. There may also be some shiny specs of aluminum on the plug if the problem is bad enough to break material from the pistons.
Sounds like an oil consumption issue to me. Either an overly aggresive PCV system or rings are going bad.

Okay, thanks guys. I haven't pulled all the plugs yet, I'm in the process of changing springs, so I'll see what the others look like.
