i was wondering what is a good cam for a 408 stroker ? of course i want the most power i can get!
Is the S1 MTI cam a good one or should i go with something different?

I have one you might want. Idles at 1550 rpm, and peaks out at 7900. Runs like a mother though Seriously, what do you want the car to do for you?

I had a SR 246/253 on a 110 that was ever so "fun" (thing had the most kick *** idle (my idle is 1K) and ran like a raped ape well into the 7K range..... ) but just wouldn't tune up "nice" enough to drive every day .......so I ordered a SR 244/249 112LSA Friday for my daily driver 388 all bore (M6 w/ 3.73s @~3300lbs)........it should work a good bit better (new cam has faster ramp rates + less overlap).....

I would say for a 408, if you do solid then something in the mid 250/low 260 range. If hydrolic then stay in the 240s. Without info on what you really want (idle RPM, power band, max RPM, solid or hydrolic, etc....) and what you have (heads, bore x stroke, weight, gears, etc...), it's going to be hard for anyone to really pick anything.....

If you want to remain streetable and keep things very calm then a 234-238 duration cam would act similar in a 408 as the 224 cam acts in a stock LS1.
If your theory is more of the streetable, but aggressive then a low to mid 240 duration could be used.
The Tune will be the most important part to get the car to drive the way you want.
I have a 242/246 and it drives very nicely.

244/246 or 244/248 on a 114 have always worked good for us.

244/248 on a 114 with .600 lift works very well for me, I get no surging and a small lope, very streetable.
