I remember seeing someone comment on this before, and they said to just run with the thickness that you would normally run in your car.

Since that break in oil is actually going to be cleaning out all the contaminents in your engine from the assembly lube and crap that it encountered when everything was apart, the oil is going to get real dirty really quickly. You only want to keep it in there for maybe 50-100 miles tops...so its probably more cost effective to use dino oil, since the oil will only be in there for so short of time.

More cost effective than using Mobil One, IMO.

Default Heads/Cam break in period... (what oil to use Dino or Synth? and weight)

OK... I'm installing my heads and cam week after next.

Once installed I'm going to heat cycle the springs 5 times

When I finish the install and add oil, should I use Dino oil for the break in? Or should I keep with synthetic?

I've run Mobil 1 5w30 for the past 30,000 miles or so.

Also for break in should I use 10w30 instead? Drive for a few hundred miles then swap out w/5w30?

Thanks!
